Fast Food Friday: McDonald’s Dollar Menu & More

Sorry for the late post … here ya go.

This week, I have decided on reviewing an entire menu of items.  Mickey D’s just rolled out a new value menu called “Dollar Menu & More.”  Rather than review each individual new item, I’ve decided to lump them all together in a mini-review.

BBQ Ranch Burger

This standard issue sized burger is topped with Barbecue Ranch sauce and Taco Chips.  I don’t know why the Taco Chips but I liked the combo.  They added a bit of crunchiness to the burger as well as another level of flavor.  I liked this one … even better for only $1

Buffalo Ranch Hot & Spicy McChicken

We only get the “Hot & Spicy” variety of McChicken sandwich (just cause we are from south Louisiana doesn’t mean we need everything spicy).  The Buffalo adding to the Hot & Spicy just seems redundant.  The ranch added a little to the flavor but all-in-all, a hot mess.  This one was sloppy.  Sandwich was only $1 also.  Also available with bacon for $2.

Bacon McDouble

A McDouble with bacon on it.  Very simply.  I got mine “plain” because pickles, reconstituted onions, ketchup and mustard should never be on a burger.  Sandwich was $2.

Grilled Onion Cheddar Burger

I liked this one a lot.  Grilled onions and white cheddar added a bit of sophistication to a cheap burger.  Sandwich was $1.
