WWE Night of Champions 2015 Predictions

Match 1: Neville & The Lucha Dragons vs. The Cosmic Wasteland (Stardust & The Ascension) – Six-man Tag Team Match

This is the pre-show match and it continues the comic book-based storyline that Stardust and Neville were in at Summerslam and adds The Ascension and The Lucha Dragons to the mix. I think this will be a fast-paced, possibly exciting match, but nothing that I am looking forward too a lot. I believe though that Stardust and The Acsension will get the win and continue this storyline to the next PPV. Winner: The Cosmic Wasteland

Match 2: Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev – Singles Match

The Ziggler-Rusev storyline continues once again, but without Lana in Ziggler’s corner as she recovers from a wrist injury. Their last match at Summerslam ended in a double countout and I just hope this one ends better, although I could care less by this point. I’ll go with Rusev here and the inevitable next match going with Ziggler. Winner: Rusev

Match 3: Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, & TBA vs. The Wyatt Family – Six-man Tag Team Match

The battle between these two groups continues with a couple of new faces in the mix. Joining Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper is Braun Strowman, the newest member of The Wyatt Family. Strowman debuted after Summerslam and manhandled Reigns and Ambrose. This forced the two former Shield members to recruit their own new partner and this person will be revealed at Night of Champions. I won’t speculate on who this mystery partner will be but I hope it is a surprise worth the wait. However, no matter who it is, I think The Wyatt Family HAS to get the win here and continue one of the best current feuds. Winner: The Wyatt Family

Match 4: Seth Rollins (C) vs. John Cena – Singles Match for the WWE United States Championship

In the first of Seth Rollins’ two championship defenses, he faces John Cena in a rematch for the WWE United States championship. These two had a good match at Summerslam and should have another. I’m curious how the night will play out for Rollins with this match and his other title match against Sting, but if I had to predict the outcome, I’m going with John Cena picking up the win and regaining his WWE United States championship. Winner: John Cena

Match 5: The New Day (C) vs. The Dudley Boyz – Tag Team Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship

The Dudley Boyz surprised everyone and returned to the WWE after Summerslam and immediately put themselves in title contention. They have looked good since returning and honestly don’t look that much older than when they left. I believe this will be an excellent match with the savvy veteran workers and the very entertaining faction of The New Day. I do believe that The Dudley Boyz will hold the WWE Tag Team championships again one day, but not just yet as The New Day have done just about everything right and have earned what they have. Winner: The New Day

Match 6: Nikki Bella (C) vs. Charlotte – Singles Match for the WWE Divas Championship; if Nikki is counted out or disqualified, she will lose her championship

I was happy with the “Divas Revolution” at first, but lately it has become very bland. Sure, the Divas have been given more time and more of a storyline, but it is time to readjust everything and split the groups up so that each can go after the championship. And to do that, I believe the title has to change hands. Also, it is just time for someone other than Nikki Bella to hold the title. Winner: Charlotte

Match 7: Ryback (C) vs. Kevin Owens – Singles Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Is it just me or is anyone else confused a bit by Ryback’s character? I thought he was a monster. A guy who walked to the ring, kicked some ass, and then went home. But lately he has come off as an average guy. They have portrayed him as your average guy who just happens to be built like a house. To me, he just works better as the big guy who will destroy anyone in his path. However, with that said, this version of Ryback is perfect for the bully-like Owens to go after. Owens has been put against some of the best since moving up to the main roster and now he has the chance to show what he can do against Ryback, a wrestler who is good, but not that technical. I do believe it will be a good match and we could end up with a new champion. And a new, long term feud. Winner: Kevin Owens

Match 8: Seth Rollins (C) vs. Sting – Singles Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

The night will close out with the second match of the night for Seth Rollins and the second match ever in the WWE for Sting. The veteran wrestler reappeared in WWE for the first time since losing at Wrestlemania 31. He returned and challenged Rollins to a match for his championship and got the match when an irate Triple H set it up for the PPV. I think this match will be beneficial in many ways. First, I think that a good match with Sting will be good for Rollins. He has already proven to be one of the best stars of today, but it won’t hurt his legacy to have a match with an all-time great. Secondly, I think this match will be the setup to a match with Triple H. That match seems to be inevitable and this could be the match that makes those wheels start to turn. And how could this be the match to get that feud brewing? I will predict that Triple H gets involved somehow and ends up costing Rollins the match, therefore Sting becomes the WWE World Heavyweight champion for the first time ever. I don’t think he would necessarily have a long run as champion if he did win, but I could easily see him winning the title and Rollins has a night to forget as he loses both of his championships and has nothing left. Winner: Sting
